Kriget
"It was just a few weeks ago I went to my first Kriget gig. I absolutely loved it.
These gentlemen distill music all the way down to its darkest, evil and uplifting primal essence.
A kind of purity lies within this rock’n’roll trios grasp. With just bass, drums and a furious saxophone they take inspiration from pioneers in the margins of pop. A place where music, mystery and noise always will be perfect bedfellows.
Cybotron, DAF, Peter Brötzmann, James Chance and Ornette Coleman are some of the reference points the trio agrees on.
Submission is Krigets second LP. It consists of ten songs that sound like animals fucking. In a good way. Submission is not electronic – it’s mechanical. It’s not reverential – it’s just rather essential.
Kriget means The War in swedish.
Kriget are Gustav Bendt, saxophone,
Per Nordmark, drums,
Christoffer Roth, bass.
They are from Stockholm and you really should come see them."
